Crude palm oil prices rose by 4.90 to Rs 527.90 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions driven by rising demand in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in July rose by Rs 4.90, or 0.93% to Rs 527.90 per 10 kg, with a business volume of 10 lots.

Crude oil prices for June delivery rose by Rs 4.40, or 0.83% to Rs 528.80 per 10 kg in 19 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in May gained Rs 2.90, or 0.55% to Rs 528.20 per 10 kg, in trade turnover of three lots.

Analysts said fresh buying by speculators on the back of pick-up in demand in the spot market mainly pushed up crude palm oil futures prices.
