Crude palm oil prices rose by Rs 4.40 to Rs 501.10 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions on expectations of a rise in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity exchange, November crude palm oil rose by Rs 4.40, or 0.88%, to Rs 501.10 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of 131 lots, while October contract CPO gained Rs 3.70, or 0.74%, to Rs 501.60 per 10 kg in 75 lots.

The September contract moved up by Rs 3.40, or 0.68%, to Rs 502 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of 16 lots.

Analysts said fresh buying by speculators on hopes of a pick-up in demand in the spot market led to the rise in crude palm oil in the futures market.
