Crude palm oil prices rose by 0.55% to Rs 493.20 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in September rose by Rs 2.70, or 0.55% to Rs 493.20 per 10 kg in busines turnover of 206 lots.

Likewise, the oil for August contract edged up by Rs 2.40, or 0.48%, to Rs 501.10 per 10 kg in 167 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions created by speculators following pick up in demand in the spot market mainly led to rise in crude palm oil prices at futures trade.
