The stocks of companies engaged in the mining business have cruised along in the last three months from August to November on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
 
Share price of Ashapura Minechem rose from Rs 143.35on August 2, to Friday's close of Rs 160.35, up 11.85 per cent on the BSE.
 
During the same period the stock price of Himadri Chemicals and Industries increased from Rs 5.41 to Rs 12.12, up by 124.02 per cent.
 
The price of the Sesa Goa share increased from Rs 536.10 to Rs 821.45 up 53.22 per cent.
 
English Indian Clays gained from Rs 191 to Rs 202 as on October 10, up 5.71 per cent.
 
As of September 2004, the total value of mineral produced in the country excluding coal, atomic and minor minerals, grew 38.48 per cent to Rs 781 crore as compared with Rs 564 crore during the corresponding period in 2003.
