Diwali bonanza for their portfolios |

In a week, which was expected to be marred by uncertainty given the two major events viz RBI policy review and Fed meet, the markets, instead, turned it around into a positive surprise this Diwali. The Sensex rallied to record highs, with added sparkle from the Coal India listing.
Similarly, fund managers too benefited from the rally in the markets, as they all posted gains. The S&P CNX 500 index portfolio value appreciated over four per cent to Rs 11.40 lakh. On the other hand, Ajay Parmar, Siddarth Bhamre and Vinay Khattar logged gains in the range of three-four per cent each. Shishir Bajpai saw the net worth rise by 1.3 per cent.

Ajay Parmar was seen active this week after almost a fortnight. He exited from Shriram EPC for a net loss of over nine per cent, and has invested the net proceeds into Infinite Computer Solutions. Parmar’s total investments are now valued at Rs 11.11 lakh, and he holds Rs 13,000 cash. He has 22 stocks in his portfolio, of which GEI Industrial Systems with a gain of almost 35 per cent is the top gainer. Unichem Laboratories, Chambal Fertilisers and Aurobindo Pharma are up around 25 per cent each. Natco Pharma, Rallis India and Gulf Oil Corporation are just the three stocks which are trading below his cost price.

Delta Corp with a gain of over 76 per cent is his top performing stock, while Donear Indus tries down over 22 per cent is the top loser.
