DLF, Unitech pull down Realty index

The Realty index tumbled 6% to a low of 2,282 from the day's high (2,428) towards the close. The index eventually ended with a loss of 22 points at 2,295.

Most of the stocks came-off their respective day's high owing to weakness in the broader market. Mahindra Lifespace has plunged nearly 10% from the day's high. DLF has shed nearly 9%.

Unitech plunged 3% to Rs 49.35. DLF slipped 1.5% to Rs 232. 

Parsvnath Developers dropped 1.5% to Rs 48.35. Orbit Corporation and Omaxe also declined.

On the other hand, Anant Raj Industries soared 5% to Rs 79. Peninsula Land, Sobha Developers and Indiabulls Realestate were the other top gainers.

Realty stocks continue to rise for the second consecutive day. The index is now at 2,392, up 75 points (3%). In the process, the index has surged 164 points (7%) in the last two days so far.

Positive sentiment after the DLF's near 10% stake sale by the promoters has boosted the realty stocks.

DLF has gained 4.5% at Rs 247.

Sobha Developers has surged over 6% to Rs 117. Mahindra Lifespace Developers has added around 5.5% to Rs 192.

Anant Raj Indutries and Indiabulls Realestate have soared around 5% each at Rs 80 and Rs 151, respectively.

Orbit Corporation and Peninsula Land have moved up 4.5% each to Rs 92 and Rs 43, respectively.

Ansal Infrastructures, Akruti City and Omaxe are up 2.5% each.
