Dow falls to 6-yr low; ADRs end mixed

The Wall Street ended in red yesterday owing to heavy selling in banks. Moreover fears of deepening recession continued to weigh on investor sentiment. The Dow Jones industrial average index plunged to more than six-year low at 7,466 - down 90 points. The Nasdaq shed 25 points at 1,443.

Indian ADRs, however, ended on a mixed note. MTNL moved up nearly 2% to $2.70. Patni Computers gained 1.4% at $5.02. Wipro and Tata Communications were up 1% each at $6.32 and $15.77, respectively.

On the other hand, Satyam slumped over 7% to $1.70. Genpact shed 5.7% at $8.05. Dr.Reddy's slipped over 2% to $8.66. Infosys declined 1.7% to $24.72, and ICICI Bank was down 1.4% at $14.50.
