Dow gains 229pts; ADRs zoom

The Wall Street rallied smartly on Friday on the back of better-than-expected numbers from Google and Caterpillar. The Dow Jones industrial average surged 229 points to 12,849. The Nasdaq soared 61 points to 2,403.

Indian ADRs, too, ended with smart gains. Satyam zoomed over 7% to $26.29. Wipro soared 5.5% to $12.43, and Infosys surged 5% to $43.08. Patni Computers, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, MTNL and Tata Motors gained 2-3% each.
