Dow jumps 43 pts, Satyam gains 3%

US indices, particularly the Dow Jones, advanced 43 points to 10,558 following the upgradation of IBM and HP by major brokerage firms. The Nasdaq ended on a flat note at 2,144.

Indian ADRs, baring few select counters, slipped on the US bourses. Infosys dropped 2.26% to $70.86. Satyam jumped 3% to $26.70, and Wipro was up a per cent at $20.85.

HDFC Bank lost 2.70% to $47.18. ICICI Bank, Dr. Reddy's, Tata Motors and VSNL ended weak in a range of 0.50% to 1%.
