Dow, Nasdaq shed 2% on credit worries; ADRs slide

The Wall Street ended significantly in red on the back of weakness in financial stocks owing to credit worries.

The Dow Jones industrial average plunged 242 points to 11,386. The Nasdaq dropped 49 points to 2,366.

The Indian ADRs, too, ended sharply down in red. Tata Communications tumbled over 5% to $18.40. Infosys slumped 4% to $39.90. Sterlite shed 3.4% at $13.92. Wipro and Patni Computers slipped over 3% each to $11.29 and $10.25, respectively. ICICI Bank, Tata Motors and Dr.Reddy's were down around 2.5% each at $29.52, $9.46 and $13.56, respectively.
