Dow, Nasdaq slip on profit-taking

The Wall Street ended in red owing to profit taking after record breaking gains the previous day. The Dow Industrial Average index shed 77 points at 9,311. The Nasdaq moved up 65 points to 1,779.

The Indian ADRs were also mostly down. Wipro slumped over 13% to $8.05. Sterlite plunged 5.6% to $6.41, and Infosys tumbled 4% to $28.13. Patni Computers, HDFC Bank and MTNL slipped nearly 3% each to $6.65, $71.67 and $3.20, respectively.

On the other hand, Dr.Reddy's and Tata Communications surged over 4% each to $9.50 and $22.90, respectively. Satyam gained 2.5% at $14.90.
