Dow soars 71 pts, VSNL flares up 7%

US markets fared well for the third consective session following falling oil prices and optimism about the upcoming quarterly results. While the Dow Jones advanced 71 points to 10,520, the Nasdaq gained 22 points to 2,135.

Indian floats, too, had a decent outing yesterday. Satyam moved up 2.46% to $27.49 and Wipro was up 1.46% at $21.50. Infosys, however, was weak at $77.83.

VSNL flared up 6.86% to $13. Tata Motors and MTNL were up nearly 3% each at $10.28 and $7, respectively. HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Dr. Reddy's also ended in the green.
