Dull Day: ONGC gains 4%; tech stocks weak

The NSE Nifty is up eight points at 4,057.

Ranbaxy has slumped 7.5% to Rs 492.

Infosys and Satyam have tumbled 4.5% each to Rs 1,585 and Rs 420, respectively. TCS has shed 2.7% at Rs 778, and Wipro has slipped over 2% to Rs 404.

HDFC Bank has plunged 4.6% to Rs 1,018. HDFC has dropped 3.5% to Rs 1,930.

BHEL has shed 2.5% at Rs 1,484, and Hindalco has declined 1.5% to Rs 153.

ONGC has surged over 4% to Rs 885. SBI and Tata Steel have rallied around 3% each to Rs 1,258 and Rs 687, respectively.

 

Tata Motors has moved up 2.8% to Rs 411. NTPC and Larsen & Toubro have advanced over 2% each to Rs 165 and Rs 2,405, respectively.

Cipla, Hindustan Unilever and Ambuja Cements are up over 1.5% each at Rs 215, Rs 218 and Rs 82, respectively.

Maruti and Reliance Infrastructure are up 1% each at Rs 571 and Rs 810, respectively.

Out of 2,304 stocks traded so far, 1,336 have declined, 904 have advanced and 64 are unchanged.
