Prices of copper slumped in the local base metals market taking a cue from the international market as the dollar regained ground. However, nickel, tin and brass performed fairly. Locally, the price of nickel cathodes rose to close at Rs 850.00 per kilogram from Rs 815.00 on last Monday.
 
Copper wire bars closed at Rs 205.00 from Rs 208.00 on previous Monday. Copper heavy scraps closed at Rs 173.00 on Monday, from Rs 175.00 last week. Copper utensil scrap fell by Rs 3, at Rs 153.00 from Rs 156 last week and brass utensil scraps closed lower at Rs 123 from Rs 121.00 last week.
 
Brass sheet cutting closed from Rs 129 and remained steady all week through at the same price except on Saturday when it touched Rs 131.00. Aluminium utensil scraps closed at Rs 84 from Rs 85.00.
 
Aluminium ingots closed at Rs 103.00 from last Monday. It touched Rs 104.00 on Thursday, before dropping again by Re 1. Lead ingots was up by 25 paise from Rs 52 last week.
 
Zinc slabs closed at Rs 79.00m, down by Re 1 from last week. Tin slabs closed higher at Rs 474 from Rs 465.00 the previous week. Copper light scraps closed at Rs 168 from Rs 170.00 and copper sheet cutting closed at Rs 166.00, up by Rs 2 from last week's close of Rs 164.
