Edible oil prices rose up to Rs 130 per quintal on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on fresh buying support by vanaspati millers to meet the seasonal demand.
Few oils in the non-edible section, also moved up on increased industrial offtake.
Traders said fresh buying by vanaspati millers to meet the seasonal demand mainly pushed up edible oil prices.
In the national capital, mustard expeller oil (Dadri) gained the most by rising Rs 130 to 6,050 per quintal.
Mustard pakki and kachi ghani followed suit and traded higher by Rs 10 each to Rs 780-935 and Rs 935-1,035 per tin, respectively.
Groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) gained Rs 50 to Rs 7,400 and cottonseed mill delivery (Haryana) oil by Rs 30 to Rs 5,850 per quintal, respectively.
Soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) too traded in positive zone with a rise of Rs 110 to Rs 6,530, while crude palm oil (ex-kandla) and palmolein (rbd) oils rose by Rs 70 and Rs 30 to Rs 5,750 and Rs 6,250 per quintal, respectively.
In the non-edible section, linseed oil moved up by Rs 50 to Rs 4,650 per quintal on fresh paint industries enquiries. Castor oil gained Rs 50 to Rs 8,750-8,850 per quintal on increased industrial offtake.
