The downturn in the export of eggs and egg products, witnessed between 1998 and 2000, has been reversed with exports touching Rs 86.18 crore in 2000-01.

Though the official figures for 2001-02 are not yet available, the agriculture ministry believes that the peak level of Rs 88.85 crore achieved in 1997-98 might have been exceeded in 2001-02.
