Emami rises on robust Q4 earnings, dividend bounty

Declares a total dividend of Rs 8 per share, including a special dividend of Rs 4 per share

Emami has rallied 4% to Rs 457 on reporting a 33% year-on-year growth in net profit at Rs 72 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2012, on back of strong sales growth in various brands including Navratna Oil and Zandu Balm. Net sales of the fast moving consumer goods, grew 33% at Rs 72 crore on y-o-y basis.

The board of directors has recommended a total dividend of Rs 8 per share on the equity share, including a special dividend of Rs 4 per share for the financial year 2011-12.

The stock opened at Rs 440 and hit a high of Rs 458 on the National Stock Exchange. A combined 34,887 shares have already changed hands on the counter in morning deals, against an average around 30,000 trading daily in past two weeks on both the exchanges.
