Expansion plans take Alstom to upper circuit

The Alstom Projects India stock surged nearly 20 per cent on news that the parent company plans to expand operations in India.
 
The stock closed at the day's high of Rs 105.40, up 19.98 per cent from its previous close. More than 3.33 lakh shares changed hands at the counter.
 
The stock also got a boost from reports that the group has won a Rs 1000-crore order, in which Alstom Projects would play a major part.
 
Alstom will build a 469 mw combined cycle power plant for Gautami Power at Peddapuram, East Godavari district. GVK Industries is the lead developer of Gautami Power.
