The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sensex finished flat on Friday, as investors refrained from taking fresh positions ahead of the weekend amid uncertainty about the duration of the Iraq war and its fallout on the domestic economy.

After trading in a narrow 31.33 point range, the sensex shed 1.35 points to close at 3,115.44.
