On the other hand, complex fertilisers like di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) and muriate of potash (MOP), did not fare well during the same period.
Output of DAP fell to 1.33 million tonne, a 16 per cent drop over the same period last year. Also, MOP production was down 3.4 per cent over the same period last year to to 525,000 tonne.
FAI Deputy Director-General RC Gupta said the growth in urea sales and production should have been higher, given the favourable agro-climatic conditions, with most meteorological sub-divisions of the country receiving normal to excess rainfall.
