Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) recorded net sales of Rs 317.4 crore ($72.6 million) in equities for the trading week ended May 27. The foreign funds were net sellers at Rs 120 crore ($27.5 million) in the debt market for the period under review, according to the data available with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) here. Overseas funds were net sellers in equities on four trading days of the week. The foreign funds recorded highest net outflow of the trading week in equities at Rs 185.10 crore ($42.42 mn) on May 27 followed by Rs 162.50 crore ($37.20 mn) on May 25. FIIs registered a net outflow of Rs 120 crore ($27.50 mn) in the debt market on May 26. They stayed away from the debt market for four days of the trading week. The Stock Exchange, Mumbai, (BSE) during the week under review, saw the sensex gaining 208.22 points to close at 6707.72 points. |
