The stocks of companies engaged in the tea and coffee business have gained in last three months on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The upsurge in prices, along with improved performances of the companies in the first quarter of 2004 have led to the spike in stock prices.
 
Share price of AFT Industries jumped from Rs 66.90 on June 1, to today's close of Rs 111, up 65.91 per cent on the BSE. However DPIL Ltd lost from Rs 34.29 to Rs 21.35, down 37.73 per cent.
 
Share price of Williamson Tea gained from Rs 88.25 to Rs 136.80, up 55.01 per cent, Goodricke increased from Rs 46.40 to Rs 59.50, up 28.23 per cent, and Harrisons Malayalam moved up from Rs 29.65 to Rs 43.75, up 47.55 per cent.
 
Tata Tea increased from Rs 331.05 to Rs 429.40, up 29.70 per cent, while Assam Co moved up from Rs 24.85 to Rs 34.20, up 37.62 per cent and Warren Tea appreciated from Rs 48.75 to Rs 77.20, up 58.35 per cent.
 
Williamson Magor moved from Rs 13.20 to Rs 20.30 up by 53.78 per cent. Parry Agro rose from Rs 135.00 to Rs 202.10 up 49.70 per cent, and Tata Coffee increased from Rs 123.30 to Rs 178.35 up by 44.64 per cent.
 
B&A Limited increased from Rs 14 to Rs 26.65 a rise of 90.35 per cent. Asian Tea which rose from Rs 4.40 to Rs 6.50 up by 47.72 and Assambrook went up by 37.35 per cent from Rs 15.07 to Rs 20.70.
