Firm Trend Driven By Govt Hike

As a result of government hiking price of both rice and wheat, the local grains and pulses market moved in a narrow range. The sentiment was mostly for steady to rising prices.

Wet wheat was offered at Rs 10 higher at Rs 600, while exporters got the wheat for Rs 25 more at Rs 456 per quintal. The price increase saw lower supply of wheat from farmers. Wheat dara strengthened from Rs 622-665 to Rs 635-675 per quintal.
