According to sources close to the development, FMC may cap the single domestic entity ownership below 26 per cent to avoid dominant control by any single owner. The cap is 5 per cent in stock exchanges. There is no such limit at present in commodity bourses.  The regulator is in the process of finalising the ownership norms and has already had discussions with the market participants for views.  The sources said FMC was in favour of a higher cap which could act as an incentive for the owner to develop the market.
