Food Summit May Miss Targets To End Hunger

The goal of the 1996 World Food Summit (WFS) to halve the number of chronically undernourished people by 2015 is unlikely to be met, according to the latest projections made by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).

WFS had bound countries to reduce the number of underfed people to half of the estimated 815 million in 1990.
