Fresh buying propels Sensex

The market, which showed signs of jitteryness in mid-noon trades due to profit-taking, has firmed up in current trades following renewed buying in most of the old and new eocnomy stocks.

The Sensex has flared up 76 points to 6,211, and the Nifty, too, has moved up 15 points to 1,924.

Reliance has upped its gains by 1.94% (Rs 10) to Rs 524. While ONGC has moved up 2.52% (Rs 21) to Rs 862, ITC is trading higher with a gain of 1.52% (Rs 21) at Rs 1,390. HLL has gained 2% (Rs 3) to Rs 130.

Satyam has raked in 2.49% gains (Rs 9) to Rs 377. While Wipro has scaled up 1.85% (Rs 11) to Rs 587, Infosys is unchanged with a per cent gain (Rs 17) at Rs 1,931.

HDFC Bank has jumped nearly 2% (Rs 10) to Rs 541. SBI and ICICI Bank are marginally up at Rs 616 and Rs 385, respectively.

Hero Honda has advanced 4.41% (Rs 21) to Rs 508. Other auto scrips are trading over a per cent gain each.

Ranbaxy has added 1.60% (Rs 15) to Rs 957. Dr. Reddy's has gained 1.20% (Rs 8) to Rs 697, and Cipla is up 1.37% (Rs 3) at Rs 237.

While Tisco has surged 2.81% (Rs 10) to Rs 357, Tata Power has moved up 2.12% (Rs 7) to Rs 344.
