Fresh selling chops 102pts off Sensex

A fresh round of selling dragged the Sensex to a low of 10,008. The index is now down 102 points at 10,022.

Grasim has shed 3.4% to Rs 1,640. Larsen & Toubro, HLL and Tata Motors have declined 3% each to Rs 2,274, Rs 231 and Rs 777, respectively.

Hindalco (Rs 156), Hero Honda (Rs 897) and ITC (Rs 162) are down 2.7% each.

HDFC Bank, Cipla and HDFC have slipped over 2% each to Rs 739, Rs 529 and Rs 1,312, respectively.

ONGC, ICICI Bank and Tata Power have declined over 1% each.

However, Wipro, Ranbaxy and Bajaj Auto continue to hold gains.

The market breadth is extremely negative - out of 2,545 stocks traded so far, 1,775 have declined, 712 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.

Matrix Labs tops the value chart with a turnover of Rs 109.43 crore followed by Adlabs (Rs 93.20 crore), Tata Motors (Rs 80.16 crore), Reliance (Rs 73 crore) and Maruti (Rs 63.48 crore).

GSPC leads the volume chart with trades of around 70.85 lakh shares followed by IndoRama Textiles (51.24 lakh), Assam Company (45.60 lakh), Matrix (41.60 lakh) and SAIL (34.75 lakh).
