Gains intact; Jaiprakash Associates surges 7%

Earlier in the day the Sensex opened positive at 11,065, but soon slipped into the negative zone to a low of 11,008 on account of some selling in early trades. However, fresh buying in realty and metal stocks helped the index rally to a high of 11,210.

Jaiprakash Associates has rallied 7% to Rs 120. Tata Motors has advanced 5% to Rs 248. Reliance Infrastructure has surged above 4.5% to Rs 689.

DLF, Tata Steel,Larsen & Toubro have gained around 3% each at Rs 237, Rs 266 and Rs 892, respectively.

Sterlite has moved up 2.5% at Rs 398.

ICICI Bank, SBI, HDFC are up over 2% each at Rs 452, Rs 1,335 and Rs 1,091, respectively.

 

However, Sun Pharma has declined 2% at Rs 1,181. Hindustan Unilever has fallen above 1% at Rs 236.
