Gains intact; Sensex up 133pts

The Sensex touched a new summit at 10,733, and is now up 133 points at 10,728.

Tata Power and Hindalco have surged over 5.5% each to Rs 578 and Rs 167, respectively.

NTPC has soared 4.3% to Rs 136. Tata Steel and Reliance Energy are up nearly 4% each at Rs 472 and Rs 657, respectively.

Ranbaxy has moved up 2.7% to Rs 447. Tata Motors has rallied 2.6% to Rs 927.

ONGC and TCS have gained over 2% each at Rs 1,173 and Rs 1,753, respectively. Reliance has added 2% to Rs 729.

ITC (Rs 177), HDFC (Rs 1,335) and Cipla (Rs 556) have advanced over 1% each.

Bharti Tele has slipped nearly 1% to Rs 405. Maruti is the only other notable loser among the Sensex stocks.

Out of 2,587 stocks traded so far, 1,396 have advanced, 1,115 have declined and the rest are unchanged.

Reliance Communication Ventures (RCoVL) continues to lead the value chart with a turnover of Rs 563.57 crore followed by Reliance (Rs 139.96 crore), Tata Motors (Rs 97.30 crore), Tata Steel (Rs 76.71 crore) and Maruti (Rs 70.62 crore).

RCoVL also tops the volume chart with trades of nearly two crore shares followed by Reliance Energy Ventures (52.50 lakh), NTPC (46.62 lakh), Reliance Natural Resources (41.78 lakh) and KEC Infrastructure (37.09 lakh).
