Gains intact; Sensex up 298pts

The Sensex is now up 298 points at 14,288.

Gujarat Ambuja has surged 4% to Rs 136. Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro and Cipla have rallied over 3% each to Rs 878, Rs 1,665 and Rs 252, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Maruti and HDFC Bank have moved up around 2.8% each to Rs 941, Rs 882 and Rs 1,045, respectively.

Bharti Airtel, HLL and BHEL are up around 2.5% each at Rs 780, Rs 205 and Rs 2,382, respectively.

Out of 2,420 stocks traded so far, 2,010 have advanced, 377 have declined and 33 are unchanged.
