Gains wiped out; Satyam sheds 4%

The NSE Nifty has slipped into the negative zone and is now down three points at 4,089.

Reliance Communications has soared 4% to Rs 453. Cipla and Ranbaxy have surged around 3% each to Rs 222 and Rs 451, respectively.

HDFC Bank, Hindustan Unilever, ITC and ICICI Bank have rallied over 2.5% each to Rs 1,062, Rs 226, Rs 181 and Rs 634, respectively.

SBI has advanced 2.3% to Rs 1,330. NTPC has gained 1.4% at Rs 176, and Tata Steel is up over 1% at Rs 600.

Satyam has plunged 3.6% to Rs 369. Bharti Airtel, DLF and Larsen & Toubro have slipped around 2% each to Rs 785, Rs 448 and Rs 2,495, respectively.

 

BHEL is down over 1% at Rs 1,512.

Out of 2,376 stocks traded so far, 1,317 have declined, 990 have advanced and 69 are unchanged.
