Gains wiped-out; Sensex up 11pts

A heavy bout of selling dragged the Sensex into negative zone. The index touched a low of 10,267 - down 89 points from the high. The index has now moved back into positive zone and is up 11 points at 10,293.

Larsen & Toubro has rallied 2.5% to Rs 2,422. Grasim has surged 2.4% to Rs 1,708, and Tata Power has spurted over 2% to Rs 530.

ICICI Bank (Rs 605), ACC (Rs 606), Reliance Energy (Rs 622), Maruti (Rs 800), BHEL (Rs 1,940), Tata Motors (Rs 794) and HLL (Rs 241) are up 1-2% each.

Hindalco has shed 1.8% to Rs 152. Ranbaxy has slipped 1.3% to Rs 436 and Gujarat Ambuja is down 1% at Rs 87.60.

The market breadth is marginally positive. Out of 2,217 stocks traded so far, 1,206 have advanced, 945 have declined and 66 are unchanged.

Jindal Photo has soared nearly 13% to Rs 180. Agro Dutch, Ansal Infrastructure, Heritage Foods, Praj, Wyeth, Rallis, Canara Bank, HCL Infosys, Finolex and FACT are the other major gainers.

Entertainment Networkd has slumped over 4% to Rs 237. IFCI, Videocon Appliances, Inox, Gateway, iGate Global, National Aluminium, Welspun Gujarat, GTL and MphasiS BFL are on slippery ground.
