Gold prices fell by 0.74% to Rs 30,187 per ten grams in futures trade today as speculators trimmed their positions, taking a negatives cues from overseas markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in December fell by Rs 224, or 0.74%, to Rs 30,187 per ten gram in business turnover of 5,958 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in February traded lower by Rs 190, or 0.63%, to Rs 29,736 per ten gram in 438 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in futures to weak global trend. Gold fell by USD 15.70 to Rs USD 1266.20 an ounce in New York last night.
