Gold prices today declined by Rs 20 to Rs 15,300 per 10 gram in the bullion market here owing to a slump in demand amid weakening global trend.
However, silver recorded a gain of Rs 200 to Rs 22,000 per kg on brisk buying by stockists and industrial units.
Marketmen said fall in demand against fresh arrival mainly brought down gold prices.
Standard gold and ornaments fell by Rs 20 each to Rs 15,300 and Rs 15,150 per 10 gram respectively. Sovereign also moved down by Rs 50 at Rs 12,350 per piece of eight gram.
On the other hand, silver ready shot up by Rs 200 to Rs 22,000 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs 130 to Rs 22,280 per kg.
Silver coins remained unchanged at Rs 28,300 for buying and Rs 28,400 for selling of 100 pieces.
