Gold Falls, On Tenterhooks

The threat of war has led to a fall in the price of gold. Domestic gold closed lower today than Monday's close after global prices eased. The kilogram bar ended the day at Rs 5.3 lakh, down from Rs 5.4 lakh on Monday, and standard gold ended at Rs 5,300, down from its close of Rs 5,400 on Monday.

Gold opened higher in Asia at $339.80-340.80 an ounce, and later eased at $337-338 after Bush's speech.
