Tracking a weak trend overseas, gold futures prices fell by 0.40% to Rs 27,050 per 10 grams today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, for February ddelivery gold fell by Rs 108, or 0.40%, to Rs 27,050 per 10 grams, with a business turnover of 98 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in December edged lower by Rs 98, or 0.36%, to Rs 26,789 per 10 grams, with a trade volume of 3,156 lots.
Market analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators, taking weak cues from Asian trade, mainly kept pressure on the gold prices at futures trade here.
Meanwhile, gold fell by 0.05% to $1,678.90 an ounce in Singapore.
