Gold prices fell marginally by Rs 23 to Rs 30,025 per 10 grams in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions amid a weak trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in October traded marginally lower by Rs 23, or 0.08%, to Rs 30,025 per 10 grams, with a business turnover of 138 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in August shed Rs 21, or 0.07%, to Rs 29,725 per 10 grams, with a turnover of 4,656 lots.

Marketmen attributed the marginal fall in gold prices at futures trade to a weak trend in overseas markets.

Meanwhile, gold declined 0.3% to $1,600.53 an ounce in London.
