Gold prices rose by Rs 52 to Rs 18,913 per ten grams in futures trade today, as speculators created fresh positions,driven by firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for October month rose by Rs 52 or 0.28 per cent to Rs 18,913 per ten grams, with an open interest of 19,411 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in December month moved up by Rs 51 or 0.27 per cent to Rs 19,014 per ten grams, with a business turnover of 7,013 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions created by speculators amid firming global trend led to the rise in gold prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, gold rose by $4.60 to Rs $1,249.60 an ounce in the Asian region.
