Gold futures rose by Rs 36 to Rs 28,339 per 10 grams today, as speculators created fresh positions on the back of a firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, June gold rose by Rs 36, or 0.13%, to Rs 28,339 per 10 grams in business turnover of 392 lot.
The April delivery moved up by Rs 33, or 0.12%, to Rs 27,850 per 10 grams in 3,036 lots.
Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators in tandem with a firming global trend mainly led to rise in gold prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, gold gained 0.4% to $1,657.05 an ounce in Singapore.
