In the international market, gold eased on Thursday after the European Central Bank kept its policy on hold, prompting some investors to lock in profits, but worries over mounting cases

Gold prices slumped to Rs 49,267 from Rs 49,318 per 10 gram while silver prices also dipped to trade at Rs 52,085 per kg, according to Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association. 

Gold jewellery prices vary across India, the second-largest consumer of the metal, due to excise duty, state taxes, and making charges.
