Gold steady; silver declines on sustained selling

In the bullion market of the national capital, gold remained steady today at Rs 15,300 per 10 gram, while silver prices fell further by losing Rs 100 per kg on sustained stockists selling.

Elsewhere, gold, sovereign and silver coins remained unchanged in limited deals.

Marketmen said sustained selling by stockists and reduced offtake by industrial units mainly pulled down silver prices.

Silver ready fell further by Rs 100 to Rs 22,000 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs 210 to Rs 22,290 per kg. However, silver coins remained flat at Rs 28,300 for buying and Rs 28,400 for selling of 100 pieces.

 

On the other hand, standard gold and ornaments held steady at Rs 15,300 and Rs 15,150 per 10 gram, respectively. Sovereign also traded unchanged at Rs 12,400 per piece of eight gram.
