The group of ministers constituted for suggesting measures to revitalise cooperative credit structure is expected to submit its report to the finance ministry soon.
The report was finalised by the group at its meeting held, here, yesterday under the chairmanship of minister of state for finance Balasaheb Vikhe Patil. It was attended by senior officials of the union ministries of agriculture, finance and the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), besides the members of the group.
The meeting also discussed the issues relating to the sharing of rehabilitation assistance between the Centre and the states and the adoption of model cooperative law by the states. The package is expected to revive many sick cooperative credit organisations, including cooperative credit banks.
