 The best monsoon in several years has finally begun to retreat. It withdrew from western Rajasthan and Punjab on September 17.

 While the retreat is almost two weeks behind schedule for west Rajasthan, it is only a few days behind for Punjab. Its withdrawal from other regions will, however, depend on emerging wind patterns.
