Groundnut oil rise on renewed demand

Groundnut oil prices rose in a fairly active oils and oilseeds market here today on renewed demand from stockists and retailers. Refined palmolein advanced further on hectic stockist demand amidst consumer offtake.   

Castorseed bold and castor oil commercial also gained on fresh demand from shippers and soap industries. In futures market, castorseeds prices rallied owing good export orders. 

In the edible segment, groundnut oil and refined palmolein both firmed up by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 965 and Rs 542 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 960 and Rs 537, respectively.

Turning to non-edible section, castorseed bold went up by Rs 20 per 100 kg to Rs 4,800 from Rs 4,700 and castor oil commercial moved up by Rs 4 per 10 kg to Rs 990 as against Rs 986. 

 

Moving to futures section, castorseeds for September delivery resumed higher at Rs 4,705 and traded in a range between Rs 4,740 and Rs 4,695 before ending at Rs 4,730 as against Rs 4,670 previously, showing sharp gain of Rs 60 per tonne.
