Groundnutoil scales new high on brisk demand

Groundnutoil prices shot up to an all -time record high at the oilseeds market here today due to sustained buying from stockists and retailers amidst festive demand.

Refined palmolein, however held steady on lack of buying support.

Elsewere, non-edible oils also ended at its overnight levels on thin trading.
    
Meanwhile, castorseeds futures firmed up owing to fresh export orders.
    
In the edible oil section, groundnutoil spurted by Rs 15 per 10 kg to Rs 885, from yesterday's closing level of Rs 870, while, refined palmolein closed unchanged at Rs 467 per 10 kg.
    
Moving to futures section, castorseed's October contract resumed lower at Rs 3,888 and moved down further to Rs 3,880 before recovering to finish smartly at Rs 3,910, as against Rs 3,892 previously, showing a gain of Rs 18 per tonne.
    
However, castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial and linseed oil all remained unaltered at Rs 3,965, Rs 823 and Rs 550, respectively.
