GSPL surges 6% on rise in FY09 net

The stock extended gains and touched a high of Rs 51.60, up 10.5% from the day's low. It finally ended 6% higher at Rs 51.20. The counter clocked heavy volumes of 2.25 million shares on the BSE today.

Gujarat State Petronet (GSPL) has surged over 5% on good Q4 performance.

The stock opened at Rs 48.90 and slipped to a low of Rs 46.65, down over 3% from the previous close. However, it soon surged 10.5% from the day's low to touch a high of Rs 51.60.

The stock is now up 5.3% at Rs 50.80 with over 1.67 million shares traded on the BSE.

 

GSPL informed the BSE that the net profit has increased 23.5% to Rs 123.41 crore for the year ending March 31, 2009 from Rs 99.91 crore in FY08. The total income was up 14.5% at Rs 511.8 crore from Rs 447.27 crore.
