Guargum futures recovers on short covering

Guargum futures prices regained by Rs 211 to Rs 10,749 per quintal today, following fresh buying by traders at lower levels to cover their pending positions driven by firm spot market demand.  

Market said short covering by traders after two day's sell-off, mainly supported the uptrend.

Pick up in demand and restricted supply in physical markets also influenced trading sentiments, they said.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, guargum for November recovered by Rs 211, or 2%, to Rs 10,749 per quintal, with an open interest of 345 lots. 

Current month June's contract improved by Rs 74, or 0.72%, to Rs 10,339 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,295 lots.

 

While most active near July month contract moved up by Rs 48 or 0.65% to Rs.10,470 per quintal, having an open interest of 22,730 lots.
