Guarseed futures fall on fresh selling

Guarseed prices fell by Rs 20, or 0.88 per cent, to Rs 2,263 per quintal in futures trade today on weak spot market sentiment, traders preferred to reduced their holdings.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, guarseed prices for September-month contract fell by Rs 20, or 0.88 per cent, to Rs 2,263 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,53,790 lots.

Current August-month contract also eased by Rs 19, or 0.84 per cent, to Rs 2,243 per quintal, with an open interest of 84,360 lots.

Marketmen said increased arrivals and reduced offtake in physical markets, put weight here on the futures trading of guarseed.
