Guarseed futures gains on aggressive buying

Guarseed prices rose by Rs 26 or 1.13 per cent to Rs 2,329 per quintal in futures trading today owing to heavy buying by traders, sparked by low supplies.

Marketmen said traders enlarged their positions on hopes that prices might rise in the coming months.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guarseed for October shot up by Rs 26 or 1.13 per cent to Rs 2,329 per quintal, with an open interest of 400 lots.

The June contract moved up by Rs 5 or 0.22 at Rs 2,282 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,09,950 lots.
