Guarseed futures rise on buying interest

Guarseed prices hardened by Rs 14 or 0.63 per cent to Rs 2,237 per quintal in futures trade today on fresh buying by traders, driven by firm spot market sentiment.

Marketmen said restricted supply and pick up in demand from guargum and cattlefeed markets in physical markets, led to a rise in guarseed futures prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guarseed futures price for August contract went up by Rs 14 or 0.63 per cent to Rs 2,237 per quintal, with an open interest of 26,910 lots.

Current June-month contract also gained Rs 10 or 0.46 at Rs 2,198 per quintal, with an open interest of 40,250 lots.
